Mt. Vernon Clinic Update - September 3, 2014

Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks (VHSO) is continuing negotiations with the leadership at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center (MRC) and University of Missouri (MU), Columbia, MO in regards to the Mount Vernon Community-Based Outpatient Clinic located at the MRC.  We are optimistic we will be able to continue the operations of our clinic on-site at the MRC, and community stakeholders have offered their support of this endeavor.

VHSO is currently working through the details to enter into an extension of a contract with MRC/MU through December 31, 2014. Beginning January 1, 2015, VHSO hopes to have in place a permanent contract that will enable the clinic to remain at the MRC for three full years while the new clinic located in Springfield, MO, is completed. Be assured that VHSO will do everything possible to ensure that patient care is not disrupted and that services remain in place for our Veterans. VHSO will provide further updates as they occur.

Veterans, if you have questions, please contact your Primary Care Team or continue monitoring our Internet page for updates.

Please address all media inquiries to Public Affairs at VHSO, either Wanda Shull at 479-443-4301 ext. 65127 or Sarah McBride at 479-443-4301 ext. 63114.

Kim Adkins has been designated as the primary point of contact should anyone need additional information. Ms. Adkins can be reached at 479-444-4064.

Again, thank you for your continued support during this time of uncertainty.  We appreciate all that you do for our patients, staff, and visitors.
